EOC welcomes new Members and extends gratitude to outgoing Members

The EOC welcomes the Government’s announcement on the appointment of five new Members and the reappointment of nine existing Members to the EOC.

EOC debuts new short movie series “Under the Same Sky”

On 14 May 2023, the EOC premiered its new short movie series, “Under the Same Sky”, on ViuTV CH.99. Produced by cross-media producer Mr Steven MA Chun-wai, the series showcases eight touching stories that depict various forms of prejudice and discrimination based on disability, race, breastfeeding, sexual harassment, pregnancy, family status, mental illness, and students with special educational needs (SEN). The film is produced in Cantonese with Chinese and English sub-titles.

EOC launches advertising campaign to promote racially friendly services

On 28 April 2023, the EOC kicked off the “Racially Friendly Customer Services for All” bus body advertising campaign. As well as raising public awareness about the importance of providing racially friendly services, the six-week campaign serves to encourage goods and service providers to cater to the needs of diverse customers in an equal and friendly manner.

Carers are the unsung heroes of our society. The EOC is pleased to become a co-organiser of the Carer Awareness Day Conference, which is initiated by the Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service (BOKSS) and various carer-focused organisations to show support for carers.

Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme 2022-23 concludes successfully

The Award Ceremony for the 2022-23 Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme, organised by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) and co-organised by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, was successfully concluded on 24 April 2023. The EOC was pleased to serve as the Independent Advisor to the Scheme again to promote digital accessibility. EOC Executive Director (Operations) Dr Ferrick CHU Chung-man was one of the guests of honour at the closing ceremony. Representatives from the EOC’s Policy, Research and Training Division also attended the event.
