EOC joins World Breastfeeding Week 2024 organised by World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA)

This year, the EOC is pleased to join the WBW 2024 campaign coordinated WABA. Our involvement demonstrates our commitment to engendering a breastfeeding-friendly society. On 30 July, the EOC participated in the WBW 2024 Celebration Ceremony organised by the Department of Health in collaboration with the Hospital Authority, the Baby-friendly Hospital Initiative Hong Kong Association (BFHIHKA), and the Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK). With the aim to promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment in Hong Kong, the event calls on the public to provide essential support to mothers in the workplace and in public spaces.

Universal Accessibility Pledge application will close in a month

Enhancing accessibility in both the built and digital environment not only enables people with diverse abilities to participate in society, but it can also help businesses expand their customer base and improve branding. In April 2024, the EOC launched the Universal Accessibility Pledge (UA Pledge) to encourage more premises to demonstrate their commitment to creating accessible environments. Applications will remain open until 30 August 2024.

QPFMA 2024 recognises outstanding projects and practitioners in property and facility management

The Quality Property and Facility Management Award (QPFMA) is a prestigious biennial award jointly organised by The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors Property and Facility Management Division (HKIS-PFMD) and The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies (HKAPMC). The award programme aims to recognise outstanding projects and practitioners in the property and facility management industry. Under the theme of “Professional PFM Services Establishing a Wellness Harmony Community”, QPFMA 2024 seeks to honour organisations and practitioners who have demonstrated excellence and remarkable achievements in enhancing the occupant experience while embracing harmony and sustainability. The EOC is a supporting organisation of the Award.

The Financial Support Scheme for Self-help Organisations of Persons with Disabilities/Chronic Illnesses (2024-2026) by the Social Welfare Department aims to foster the spirit of self-help and mutual support among persons with disabilities and their families/carers, as well as to improve care for individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses within the community.
